Online poker meets MySpace. That’s how GNUF.com, the latest addition to the internet gambling scene, is being billed. And its easy to see why; GNUF is much more than a poker room - it is an online community where poker players (and casino users) can interact, be that through forums, profiles or blogs. And in the very near future GNUF's upcoming media centre will enable players to upload and download videos or pictures as well.

As for the poker, GNUF is part of the Prima Poker network, meaning players have access to hundreds of games at all hours of the day and night - there are usually over 4000 active real-money players on the network at any given time.

Graphics

The graphics on GNUF are good. The colours are rich and the table design is clean and simple, and even though there are no avatars (player characters) the table looks good.

Playability

Table
Playability at GNUF is outstanding. There are so many fantastic features it would be impossible to talk about them all; however one in particular that deserves a mention is the feature allowing you to choose from three different table sizes. The small setting is ideal for people who play multiple tables, while the big setting is great for detail, and the middle table is, well, somewhere in-between. Microgaming software more closely imitates live play than perhaps any other poker software, making it the best software for true poker fans.

Lobby
GNUF’s lobby is good, with all necessary statistics (hands per hour, aveage pot etc) displayed alongside each table to help you select the right game.

Player Numbers

Ring
The Prima Poker network is the sixth busiest poker network on the internet and regularly has over 3800 real money players active at the same time.

Tournament
Tournaments are even more popular than ring games, meaning the prize pools are huge.

Game Variety

Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, 5 Card Stud, 5 Card Draw

Rake

GNUF’s rake is roughly the industry average, with the low limit games capped at a maximum of $1 per pot.

Special Tournaments

GNUF runs satellites to loads of live tournaments across the world, such as the EPT and the Aussie Millions. They also run lots of freerolls and guaranteed pot tournaments.

With 26 events accounted for the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have dwindled slightly down from the record breaking Event #3 the Rio is still buzzing, and a number of events have topped the 1,500 mark since.

14/06/2007 17:17:40 2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21 The WSOP continues to roll on, with almost three events finishing every day now, and as we get further into proceedings the pro players seem to be making the final tables with regularity.
