Police raid house of Richard Lee (6th in WSOP main-event)
Could this be the most controversial final table in World Series history? Not for the final table action itself of course, but for the behaviour of its inhabitants off the felt. Champion Jamie Gold is already being sued for half his winnings after allegedly reneging on a deal, and now Richard Lee, the much-liked sixth placed finisher, is being investigated for illegal gambling.  Read more..

WPT Legends of Poker: FInal Table
The first post-WSOP World Poker Tour event kicked off on Saturday with the Legends of Poker $10,000 NL Hold’em event at the Bicycle Club in L.A. As usual the tournament pulled in a big crowd proving that the poker world has (almost) fully recovered from the annual World Series hangover.  Read more..

Gold vs. Leyser: the $6 million phone call
Details of the lawsuit being filed by Bruce Crispin Leyser against 2006 WSOP winner Jamie Gold have been made public, including information about how the two met and a transcript of the alleged conversation in which Gold promised Leyser half his winnings from the WSOP main-event.  Read more..

Everyone wants their piece of Gold: World Champ is sued for $6 million
Whenever someone wins the lottery, the pools, or in this case the World Series of Poker they always seem to become a flame to a swarm of moths desperate for their piece of the pie. Invariably family they didn’t know existed and friends whose name they cant remember miraculously appear on their doorstep, all eager to offer up token gifts and gestures in the hope of landing a big kickback for the sudden generosity.  Read more..

We’ve now passed the half-way line in this year’s WSOP and some of the most exciting events are almost upon us, such as the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship, and tomorrow’s much anticipated $5,000 Heads-UP NL Hold’em Championship.

With 26 events accounted for the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have dwindled slightly down from the record breaking Event #3 the Rio is still buzzing, and a number of events have topped the 1,500 mark since.

14/06/2007 17:17:40 2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21 The WSOP continues to roll on, with almost three events finishing every day now, and as we get further into proceedings the pro players seem to be making the final tables with regularity.
