WPT Festa al Lago: Andreas Walnum helps deny Joe Pelton second WPT victory
Joe Pelton, winner of the recent WPT legends of Poker, started the final table of the Festa al Lago as a significant chip leader, but in just three hands he was one of the table’s short stacks. It’s a funny old game.  Read more..

First ever WPT Festa Al Lago: 415 down, 18 to go
The latest addition to the WPT circuit, the “Festa al Lago” tournament, kicked off in the Bellagio on Monday. 433 of the world’s most talented poker players crammed themselves into the casino’s world famous poker room (as well as its nearby Fontana Bar); all attracted by the double stack format and the $1 million+ first prize.  Read more..

UltimateBet network sold to Maltese company
Excapsa Software Inc., the company behind the gaming network that counted UltimateBet on its books, has announced it has accepted a $130 million buy out for all shares of its subsidiaries Game Theory Holdings ltd. and Excapsa Services Inc. The company behind the buy out is called Blast Off Ltd.  Read more..

We’ve now passed the half-way line in this year’s WSOP and some of the most exciting events are almost upon us, such as the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship, and tomorrow’s much anticipated $5,000 Heads-UP NL Hold’em Championship.

With 26 events accounted for the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have dwindled slightly down from the record breaking Event #3 the Rio is still buzzing, and a number of events have topped the 1,500 mark since.
