The Amazon Room at the Rio Las Vegas has been a hive of activity over the last few days, with three bracelets handed out in quick succession as Events 6, 7 & 8 came to an end.

WSOP 2007: Burt Boutin beats Cajelais and Devilfish to Omaha bracelet
The final table of the $5000 Pot-Limit Omaha with rebuys tournament is one of the few World Series tables that is almost guaranteed to be packed with pro players. That’s because the re-buy format tends to prohibit amateurs from taking a shot, and its Omaha; a favourite game of the pros.

WSOP 2007: Mike Segal holds off Gavin Smith in Event #4 as Schneider bags Event #5
A bit of stardust was sprinkled on the final tables of the 2007 World Series yesterday when Events 4 and 5 reached their zenith, as for the first time this year a host of famous names battled it out on a 2007 WSOP final table (or two).

WSOP 2007: “The Big C” takes down Event #3
The second and third World Series of Poker bracelets of 2007 were decided yesterday with the conclusion of Events numbers 2 and 3, the $500 Casino Employees NL HE tournament and the first of the $1500 NL Hold’em events.

It begins
Oh yes, it’s that time of year again. Maybe I’m just getting older (well obviously I am – but you know what I mean), or maybe it’s because it’s been such a crazy year (what with the UIGEA and all that), but it feels like the last ten months have taken about ten weeks. To get to the point; its WSOP time!

2007 WSOP: Events 27 – 29
We’ve now passed the half-way line in this year’s WSOP and some of the most exciting events are almost upon us, such as the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship, and tomorrow’s much anticipated $5,000 Heads-UP NL Hold’em Championship.

2007 WSOP: Events 21 to 26
With 26 events accounted for the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have dwindled slightly down from the record breaking Event #3 the Rio is still buzzing, and a number of events have topped the 1,500 mark since.

2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21
The WSOP continues to roll on, with almost three events finishing every day now, and as we get further into proceedings the pro players seem to be making the final tables with regularity.
