EPT crowns first female champion in London
The London leg of the European Poker Tour was the second EPT event in as many weeks, and just like the Barcelona Open, London was a comprehensive sell-out. The EPT, it seems, is enjoying an upsurge in popularity so great that its organisers can barely cope with the demand, and the 400 seats available in The Vic for this event were not nearly enough.

Mark Newhouse wins 2006 (WPT) Borgata Poker Open
It may not have been a start-studded event, but the final table of the Borgata Poker Open featured a perfect mix of styles and backgrounds. Taking their seats for a shot at the $1.5 million first prize were an amateur, a seasoned pro, a famous pro and author, a wealthy business man, a young limit specialist and a young up-and-coming poker pro.

WPT Borgata Open: Jennifer Tilly busts but Sklansky makes final table
539 down, six to go; the WPT Borgata Open has reached the final table stage but sadly without its most glamorous participant. Jennifer Tilly performed superbly to reach the end of Day Three in fourth place but the Unabomber’s other half wasn’t able to push her chip advantage on to the final table. She wasn’t the only one however, with only three of the top ten chip leaders at the start of Day Four suriving till the end of the day.

WPT Borgata Open: Jennifer Tilly dominates
With 27 players left there is still an awful long way to go, but (whisper it) Jennifer Tilly, the Hollywood movie star and girlfriend of Phil “The Unabomber” Laak, is potentially on the verge of a seminal moment in her poker career.

EPT Barcelona: Ivey shows class in first EPT event
Arriving unannounced at the Barcelona Open last Wednesday Phil Ivey, possibly the world’s most gifted poker player, almost didn’t get a seat. The record turn-out meant the tournament was completely sold out and organisers were having to turn away players in their dozens.
