PokerStars.com to stay in US market, so too NETeller
In a press release that will have warmed the souls of internet poker players from New York to L.A., PokerStars.com, the second biggest online poker room worldwide (though now probably the biggest) has confirmed it will stay in the US market.

Amarillo Slim in attempted armed robbery
Hold the press, there’s another chapter to be added to the life story of the legendary Thomas “Amarillo Slim” Preston, because though he may be 78 his adventures appear far from over. In the early hours of Wednesday morning Slim reportedly escaped from an attempted armed robbery, apparently unscathed.

German chef wins EPT Baden
With all the furore surrounding the scurrilous Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act you could be forgiven for thinking that poker has been wiped off the face of the earth. Armageddon has been and gone, leaving a bloody hole where poker once stood, and the game we know and love will never again be played on our fair planet.

Alex Jacob wins US Poker Championship
One of the youngest sensations on the poker circuit, Alex Jacob, won his first major event this week when he beat all-comers at the US Poker Championship’s $10,000 buy-in main event.

Negreanu labels Senator Frist a “slimy weasel”
Daniel Negreanu, the 2004 Player of the Year and hugely popular star of the WPT, has posted a blog entry on his MySpace web page in which he brands Senator Bill Frist, the chief architect of the recent anti-gambling bill, a “slimy weasel.”

2007 WSOP: Events 27 – 29
We’ve now passed the half-way line in this year’s WSOP and some of the most exciting events are almost upon us, such as the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship, and tomorrow’s much anticipated $5,000 Heads-UP NL Hold’em Championship.

2007 WSOP: Events 21 to 26
With 26 events accounted for the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have dwindled slightly down from the record breaking Event #3 the Rio is still buzzing, and a number of events have topped the 1,500 mark since.

2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21
The WSOP continues to roll on, with almost three events finishing every day now, and as we get further into proceedings the pro players seem to be making the final tables with regularity.
