WSOP Update: Mary Jones wins Ladies title as Lee Watkinson mops up $10,000 PL Omaha
Yesterday saw the conclusion of two very different events. The Ladies Only $1000 NL Hold’em event drew 1128 entrants, the biggest by far in the event’s history, and more than the 2003 WSOP main-event! By contrast Event #16 drew the smallest field so far, with just over 200 players willing to pay the $10,000 buy-in.

WSOP Update: Fourth bracelet for Allen Cunnigham
Event #14, the $1000 with-rebuys NL Hold’em tournament, is one of the most exciting events at the World Series of Poker. A chance for the pros to show what a rebuy really means, players often spend more money in buy-ins for this event than they do for the $10,000 Championship event!

WSOP Update: Records keep tumbling - Events #7 - #13
The 2006 World Series of Poker is already living up to the high expectations it has been burdened with. Records have been broken, the pros have shined, and fairytales have had their place in the spotlight as well. Max Pescatori, the latest winner, was also the latest fairytale of the WSOP, as the Italian turned up late at the final table after watching his nation defeat France on penalties in the World Cup final. Buoyed on by their triumph Pescatori completed “the greatest day of (his) life” by capturing the $2500 NL Hold’em event.

WSOP Update: Mark Vos pips Nam Le to win Event #7
The highest payout of the 2006 World Series of poker came yesterday in Event #7, the $2000 NL Hold’em tournament, and once again there were some old heads fighting for the top spot.

WSOP Update: Boyd rises from the ashes to claim WSOP bracelet. Furst and Abolfathi win their first bracelets.
The WSOP record-breaking bandwagon continues to roll on, with every event drawing huge fields and massive crowds.
