WSOP 2006: Jamie Gold storms to victory
He started the day with a huge chip advantage over his opponents and just seven hands into heads-up play he had them all. Jamie Gold, the runaway chip leader from Day Four was crowned WSOP Champion for 2006 at 3:30am today.  Read more..

WSOP Final Table: Midway Update
With the 2006 World Series of Poker final table in full swing already one man stands head and shoulders above the rest. Four players have hit the rail, most at the hands of one man: the dealers’ choice Jamie Gold is simply on fire and is now within touching distance of the biggest prize in sport. WSOP Championship: Poker Needs More Gold
Whilst watching the 2006 World Series of Poker Championship yesterday I felt a tap on my shoulder. Well, perhaps it would be more accurate to say my elbow, as the tapping was emanating from someone standing not more than 5ft2” tall.  Read more..

WSOP Championship: The Final Table awaits
At the start of play today at 12pm, 27 players sat down at the felt knowing that 18 of them would be hitting the rail before the day was out. At least they also knew that three of those hitting the rail would be going home with over one million dollars. Some comfort I would have thought.  Read more..

WSOP Championship: Day Five – speed poker leaves everyone in need of a rest
The 2006 World Series of Poker championship event seems to have turned into a speed poker tournament, much to the surprise of everyone involved. Maybe it’s has something to do with the hurried pace of Internet tournaments and the prevalence of such players in this year’s event, but whatever the reason we are already miles ahead of schedule.  Read more..

We’ve now passed the half-way line in this year’s WSOP and some of the most exciting events are almost upon us, such as the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship, and tomorrow’s much anticipated $5,000 Heads-UP NL Hold’em Championship.

With 26 events accounted for the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have dwindled slightly down from the record breaking Event #3 the Rio is still buzzing, and a number of events have topped the 1,500 mark since.

14/06/2007 17:17:40 2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21 The WSOP continues to roll on, with almost three events finishing every day now, and as we get further into proceedings the pro players seem to be making the final tables with regularity.
