Britain continues to push for international gambling regulations
The British government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is pushing on with its plans to host an international summit on online gambling this October with the eventual goal of agreeing on international regulations for the industry.

The DCMS plan to invite the IMF, the WTO and government ministers from around the world to London to come and discuss codes and regulations for the booming online gambling industry.

The move has been prompted by last years UK Gambling Act 2005, which involved a wholesale modernisation of the UK’s 40-year-old gambling laws. The Gambling Act legalised online gambling in the UK, making it the first western country to do so.
