Police release further details of case against Richard Lee
One of the most intriguing post-scripts to this year’s WSOP became yet more interesting on Friday when the San Antonio Police Department released the affidavit for a search warrant containing some of the evidence against sixth place finisher Richard Lee.

The affidavit shows that a vice officer has, since February this year, been conducting an investigation into Richard Lee’s possible links with an illegal bookmaking scheme.

The investigation appears to have been triggered when a business card was anonymously faxed to the police with a local phone number on for placing illegal sports bets. The number was that of Richard Lee.

Lee is reportedly known as “The Chinaman” around San Antonio betting circles and is said to be the brains behind one of the biggest illegal Internet gambling operations in the area. Police believe Lee was running a website that purported to be based offshore but was actually based in the US. Despite this he has not yet been arrested.
