Teddy Sheringham faces his former Miss World girlfriend in first leg of PartyPoker European Open
The third annual PartyPoker European Open is set to start with a controversial celebrity table this December, when ex-England football star Teddy Sheringham faces off against his girlfriend and former Miss Great Britain, Danielle Lloyd.

It is not the first time the couple have found themselves in a compromising situation, as earlier this year Danielle Lloyd was stripped of her Miss Great Britain title because Sheringham had been a judge in the competition.

Nevertheless, organisers of the tournament have promised they will be extra vigilant to ensure nothing untoward takes place, such as “loving or knowing glances across the table”. And Danielle also made it clear that she and Teddy would not collude, saying: “I’ll forget my Teddy when I’m at the poker table. I play to win.”

PartyPoker were keen to point to another potential battle that could catch the eye, one they were dubbing the “battle of the babes”. Five’s new presenter of poker is Roxanne Siordia, Maxim’s current US girl of the year, meaning there will be two beauty queens on stage at the same time. A PartyPoker spokesman said: “Danielle is used to being the biggest draw wherever she goes, but it is going to be a close run thing this time.”

Alongside Teddy and Danielle will be DJ Spoony, snooker legend Steve Davis, Ibiza man Brandon Block, and Layer Cake actor Jamie Foreman.
