2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21
The WSOP continues to roll on, with almost three events finishing every day now, and as we get further into proceedings the pro players seem to be making the final tables with regularity.

Event #19: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em. 1,013 players competed for this bracelet, and Humberto Brenes made his third final table of the WSOP, an incredible acheivement in just 19 events. In the end he fell short of the bracelet once more, which went to Francois Safieddine from Colorado after he beat John Phan heads-up to take the $521,785 first prize.

Event #20: $2,000 Seven Car Stud Hi-Lo. The Seven Card Stud format once again meant a small field, with just 340 players taking to the felt. Greg Raymer made his second final table of this year's WSOP, but like Humberto Brenes was unable to convert this consistency into a bracelet. Ryan Hughes was the man who walked home with the WSOP bling, beating Min Lee to take the $176,358 first prize.

Event #21: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em format. The shootout format makes an interesting change from the norm; players compete on nine-handed tables with only the winner progressing to the next stage. There they play another winner takes all table, starting with the same number of chips, and this carrys on until just nine players remain. Both Erick Lindgren and Daniel Negreanu won all their rounds to make the final table but it was Don Baruch and Jared Davis who proved the toughest opponents, with Don Baruch eventually beating Davis to take the $264,107 first prize.

With 21 events played we are still less than half way through the 2007 World Series of Poker and we still have the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E tournamnet ahead of us, which last year produced arguably the greatest final table of all time. Dont go away!
